Hillary Clinton

Did you know? Chicagoan, Hillary Clinton grew up in a politically conservative family, but as the civil rights movement heated up, she changed her political views. Hillary earned her Juris Doctor degree at Yale Law School and began practicing law in Arkansas, where she married then-Congressional hopeful Bill Clinton.

What did she do as First Lady? During her time as the First Lady, Hillary became known for her health care initiatives, such as the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.

Her resume? Hillary was elected New York Senator in 2000, making her the first First Lady to be elected to public office and first female Senator from New York. She was reelected in 2006.

Hot issues? Among her oft-talked-about issues are health care reform, the war in Iraq, and energy independence.
